Here at ThisAfghanAmericanLife we aim to explore the Afghan American cultural identity in Diaspora.  We pursue our goal by supporting and promoting Afghan American writers,  collecting oral history, and conducting other projects to help make the Afghan-American experience—and the Afghan experience as a whole—visible to the world.

Global civilization is composed of many strands in constant interaction and conversation. We hope to promote this conversation and take part in it.   We believe that chronicling the Afghan Diaspora and giving voice to this community of exiles and refugees can contribute to making Afghan culture in America and elsewhere a dynamic player in the global conversation.
